In a theoretical alternate universe...

"The improved RGZ-91A was approved for mass production.  In order to fix one of the main problems with the prototype (the "discardation" of the BWS (Back Weapon System) and recovery of said BWS) the new BWS was updated to include an onboard AI, additional thrusters, and hardpoints to mount other weapons aside from the beam rifle (which was stored in the shield while transformed.)

The onboard AI of the BWS was programmed to follow a set number of routines when "purged" from the Re-GZ.  Upon purging the BWS would exit the combat area either to serve as an emergency "recovery" for the Re-GZ or it would return to its launch point.  The BWS could interact with other friendly MS and serve as a base jabber for either the ReGZ that purged, or other EFF mobile suits.  Naturally while the BWS would have more options for the ReGZ, other EFF suits would automatically engage the "return to base" procedure.

A limited number would be produced, typically given to elite teams of three to share and maintain parts and upgrades.  Three units were given to the infamous White Dingo Team veterans of the Australia outback.  Painted in their trademark colors and emblems, they would support the terrestrial forces of Londo Bell and the EFF.  Fang 1 typically deployed with a standard armament, but with the improved ReZEL rifle with built in beam saber.  Fang 2 would typically deploy with an EFF bazooka and small combat shield (stored in the main shield while docked with the BWS.)  Fang 3 as tradition would typically deploy with a heavier loadout, often with a mass-produced Hyper Mega Launcher from the famous MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.  For missions that required more mobility it would use the Zeta II's Mega Beam Rifle."
