GM Sniper II Camo sketch by Blayaden GM Sniper II Camo sketch by Blayaden
My favorite suit again, the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II, sporting some weatherproofing gear and camouflage netting.

One of the many complaints I hear about the Gundam series is how its "pointless" to make a 60 foot tall robot "stealthy". In response, I'd like to say WATCH 08th MS TEAM.

During the One Year War, the introduction of Minovsky Particles made radar and related tools useless. More often than not pilots were forced to rely on their mobile suits camera's and audio pickup to pinpoint the enemy. Add in thick jungle, mountainous areas, and the fact THAT YOU ARE ALSO 60 FEET TALL kinda puts things in perspective. Mobile suit camouflage does make sense... in the right places.

...plus it just looks cool.

This is an a pretty good sketch, i'm a fan of the GM sniper too, just wish it had a bigger part. 08TH Ms team was the best gundam series by far, it introduced the true ground war of the one year war

Yeah, aside from the GM Sniper II's "grand appearance" in 0080 (where it appeared for a grand total of 6 seconds.. half of which are as a smoking pile of rubble), it hasn't gotten much love; aside from its "top tier" status in "Rise from the Ashes" where its used by the White Dingo team.

If you liked 0080, I might recommend a manga called "Gundam: Lost War Chronicles", which has a very 08th MS team feel to it. It only has two volumes, and ends kinda on a cliffhanger (it actually continues in another Gundam manga series not released in the US)

I've heard of that, just never been able to find it, then again i haven't searched to hard. I read The Blue Destiny and found it quite enjoyable though.

Yeah, Blue Destiny is awesome. I found a link for the "Lost War Chronicles" on Amazon. I'm sure you could either buy a copy or find it on the internet somewhere.

Either way its worth a look.

I'm tight for money right now, but i'll have to consider picking it up. i have an idea of where to find it online, i just prefer to limit my illegal internet activity at the time because of all this SOPA crap. Lost War Chronicles got turned into a game didn't? and

Actually it started as a game for the PS2 (I think it had the Journey to Jaburo engine and models) and was turned into a manga.

I don't think the game was ever ported, so you'd need a special PS2 (and a guide if you don't know Japanese) to play it.

yes i've heard about that, kind of clever of Sony to add that little bit in, so that other countries couldn't play japan specific games. I haven't had a PS2 since i overheated mine a few years ago playing grand turismo. If you're interested in finding some other Gundam mangas you should try zeonic corps, they do alot of scanlations.
